Infineon Collaboration – Radar & AI-Enhanced Object Detection
For the next iteration of our project, we collaborated with Infineon to integrate radar-based presence detection with computer vision, enhancing our automated fan control system. Using the Infineon PSoC™ 6 AI Evaluation Kit, we combined YOLOv5 object detection with radar data from the BGT60TR13C sensor to enable wake-up signals for presence detection and close-range gesture control for added functionality.
Raspberry Pi + Arduino – Object Detection & Automated Response
As part of a summer intro to engineering project, we built a system using a Raspberry Pi and Arduino to detect a person and automatically adjust a fan’s direction. We implemented YOLOv5 (You Only Look Once) for real-time object detection, allowing the Raspberry Pi to accurately identify a person and send commands to the Arduino, which controlled the fan's movement.
ESP32-CAM – Exploring Edge Computing & Object Detection
Using an ESP32-CAM, I experimented with edge computing to perform real-time object detection without relying on cloud-based processing. By leveraging low-cost microcontrollers and cameras, I explored how data can be processed directly at the source, enabling localized object classification and localization.
Flipper Zero + BFFB – Advanced Wireless Exploration & Security
Expanding my Flipper Zero's capabilities, I integrated the BFFB (Big Flipper Friend Board) by Just Call Me Koko, an all-in-one peripheral for enhanced wireless analysis and security testing. Featuring dual CC1101, nRF24L01+, ESP32, and GPS, this board provides powerful Sub-GHz, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth capabilities for signal analysis, security research, and real-world vulnerability assessments.
