Infineon Collaboration – Radar & AI-Enhanced Object Detection
For the next iteration of our project, we collaborated with Infineon to integrate radar-based presence detection with computer vision, enhancing our automated fan control system. Using the Infineon PSoC™ 6 AI Evaluation Kit, we combined YOLOv5 object detection with radar data from the BGT60TR13C sensor to enable wake-up signals for presence detection and close-range gesture control for added functionality.

The PSoC™ 6 MCU, with its dual-core Arm® Cortex®-M4 and M0+ processors, provided low-power, high-performance ML capabilities, allowing real-time sensor fusion between visual and radar data. By leveraging DEEPCRAFT™ Studio for model deployment and ModusToolbox™ for firmware development, we refined our system to be more efficient, responsive, and capable of gesture-based interaction.
This collaboration expanded our knowledge in machine learning, embedded AI, and multi-sensor integration, pushing the boundaries of edge computing and human-machine interaction.
